From Old to New
Posted on September 18, 2010, at 3:42 pm

I’ve totally redesigned my website. Not just a little tweak here or there; every single line has been rewritten to produce something new. I feel that the new layout is much more malleable and expandable than the old, narrow format. See for yourself:

The new design is wider. It throws much more information at you at once (“magazine style”). It’s brighter. And it’s not finished.

Web design, I’ve discovered, is a process. You’re never really going to “finish” designing your web presence. But having spent the last month and a week on this page, I’m utterly sick of HTML, CSS, WordPress, and PHP. At least for now. The “About” page needs a lot of work, and I’m going to implement a “portfolio” page to showcase my work. I’ve effectively pushed the new site design out the door before it was finished. I think I was just anxious to get the design out there so I could start receiving criticism, and using the new “on-the-go” (“OTG”). feature I’ve implemented. :)

My next post will be a description of how “OTG” works.

The new design looks absolutely amazing! You have obviously put a tremendous amount of work into this.

Blair, I don’t think it’s fair that you’ve made us all look bad with your sweet new website.

Oh I don’t think I’ve made you look bad! :) Thanks for the compliments! The site still needs some work… just not as intense a rate as I was going at it.
